Series Memory Verse:
"God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways." Galatians 5:22-23(CEV)
Week ONE:
Today we are learning about God's love and how we can be loving toward others. We meet a woman named Esther who had a loving heart. She loved her Jewish people and when they were in harms way, she prayed out to God. God gave Esther the courage to stand up and save the people she loved. We may not have to risk our lives like Esther did, but God can give us the same strength to make the right choices. Esther could have looked the other way, but she chose to do the right thing out of her love for others. When we turn to God, He will give us the strength and courage to act out of love. God wants us to show His love everyday and in every way!

Week TWO:
We are going to learn about happiness today. Jacob loved God and all he ever wanted to do was to make God happy. Jacob and his brother Esau had an argument and didn't talk or speak to each other for a long time. When Esau asked to meet with Jacob, he was scared so he prayed to God. He wanted God's blessing in his life, and he wasn't going to give up until he got it. Jacob trusted God, and God blessed Jacob for trusting Him and turned his fear into happiness. Jacob never gave up and neither should we. God knows we are able to do more than we think is possible. We just need to trust His plan for our lives. We need to remember, no matter what happens along the way, God makes us happy everyday!

Week THREE:
Our Bible story today is about two brothers who got in trouble for being unkind too. We are learning today that God wants us to be peaceful. James and John were brothers. They loved Jesus very much and thought He should be treated kindly. But some people didn't treat Jesus nicely. They stood up for Jesus when others didn't treat Him nicely, and sometimes they lost their tempers. Jesus didn't want them to be angry. Jesus wanted them to follow His example and be at peace with others. Jesus wants us to be nice to everyone. He will give us a peaceful heart if we ask Him too. Being nice to everyone makes God really happy, especially when we don't want to!

Week FOUR:
Our lesson today comes from the book of Genesis and is about patience. It's hard waiting for something you want. We will meet a man named Abraham and learn about how he was very patient for the thing he wanted most....a son. God had promised to give Abraham a son, but when Abraham was getting old and still did not have a son he and his wife Sarah were about to give up on their dream of having a son. God did finally give Abraham his son when he was really old. Sarah and Abraham had to learn to be patient and wait on God. Nothing is impossible with Him. God knows what is best for us and we need to be patient without complaining or pouting. It makes God happy when we are patient with Him and others!

Week FIVE:
Our story comes from the book of Acts and is about a man named Joseph. Joseph loved the Lord very much. Joseph was a kind and good person who only wanted to do what the Lord wanted. Joseph showed his kindness to others by helping them out in any way he could. He sold his land for farming to help the poor. He also told others about God's love. A great way to show God's love to others is by being kind and good to them. To be the person God wants us to be we need to be kind and good.

Week SIX:
Daniel has his own book in the Bible and that is where our story comes from today. Daniel was true to his name because he worshiped and obeyed God all of his life. One day, Daniel's life changed and he had to make a very hard decision. Daniel was forced to make a choice between praying and worshiping God or an idol. Daniel was faithful to God and made the right choice even when making this choice meant he would face danger. When are friends ask us to do something we know is wrong we need to be faithful to God and make the right choice.

Week SEVEN:
In our Bible story today we are talking about a man who had a gentle heart and didn't like to hurt others. He wanted everyone to know about Jesus, but he didn't start off feeling like that. Saul didn't start off liking Jesus and was mean to those who did. One day, Jesus blinded Saul with a bright light and asked him why he was being mean to Christians. After meeting and talking with Jesus, Saul began to believe in Jesus. Once Saul believe, Jesus changed his name to Paul. Paul then traveled all over preaching the Good News of Christ to others. Instead of hurting people who loved Christ, Paul now cared for and served them. When we get to know Jesus, He helps us become better people!

Week EIGHT:
Simon was known for being pushy and loud. He often times said things without thinking about it. As Simon spent more time with Jesus, he became a more thoughtful person and in control of his actions. Being in control of your actions means you can calm yourself down instead of getting angry at someone and shouting. Once Simon became a follower of Christ his name was changed to Peter. Peter was one of Jesus' closest friends. At times, Peter still acted silly but God can take our silliness and make it better! Peter led others in ways that were wise and smart. No matter how we act, Jesus can help us be more in control of ourselves. We need to practice self control everyday!
