We start off the month with something Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus. In Ephesians 2:8-9 we read, God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it, (NIrV). When it comes to faith in God, everything, especially God’s gift of grace through Jesus, is a gift of love. All we have to do is accept it.
Bottom Line: Jesus is a gift for everyone. This is a simple yet powerful bottom line we pray sinks into the hearts of kids. There’s nothing we have to do to earn our Salvation. We just have to accept God’s amazing gift of grace through Jesus. We pray this is a decision every kid will make at some point in their life; maybe even this summer!

In week two, we follow Paul’s journey as he goes to Athens, a city known for statues and idols to false gods. In Acts 17 we see how Paul noticed a statue they had to an “unknown god” as if the people of Athens were covering their bases, just in case they missed a god out there. Paul used this to share the truth of Jesus with the people.
Bottom Line: You can help others know Jesus. Regardless of how old someone is, if they have a relationship with Jesus, they can help others know Him too. We want kids to realize the simple ways they can share Jesus with others. From inviting them to church to being kind and sharing their toys, kids can play a huge role in helping their friends start a relationship with God.

In Acts 27:1–28:10 we find a moment towards the end of Paul’s life. He was on his way to Rome to stand trial, but he and the entire crew were shipwrecked on the journey. This was a major setback, but Paul knew he could trust God. God used Paul in this moment to bring others to Him.
Bottom Line: Knowing Jesus changes the way you see your problems. Life will not always be easy. Thankfully, when we have a relationship with Jesus, we don’t have to go through them on our own. Jesus can change the way we see our problems. He can turn them into situations where we find God’s peace that passes all understanding.

We finish the month and this series in Revelation 21:3-5a with something John wrote towards the end of his life. John’s been exiled to live out his life alone on a remote island for prisoners. While he’s there, he has a vision of a future that’s more wonderful than we could ever fully understand. But we do know that God is making all things new. And because of Jesus, we get to experience life forever with God.
Bottom Line: Following Jesus will turn out greater than you can imagine. Because of their developmental stage, it’s hard for kids to imagine life that lasts forever. Our prayer is that through this lesson, they’ll catch a glimpse of what life can be like when we follow Jesus. Not only is God with us now, but we’ll be with God forever. We may not understand it all, but we can have faith that it will be absolutely amazing!
