It is great to know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us most and loves us best! A father's love is something very special. But the love of our Heavenly Father is most special. God's love for us and His desire to make us His children is so strong that He sent Jesus Christ to our world to show us the way to the Father to make sure we were able get to the Father by taking the punishment for our sins, that would be death. All because God the Father loves you and I so much. But what does God want from us? For us to love Him back, and to C-hoose Jesus Christ to be our Savior, Forgiver, and Forever Friend!
After Moses led the people of Israel out from Egypt and slavery, they quit moving ahead so God could give Moses the laws that the newly freed Israelites should live by, the Ten Commandments. However, Moses was away from the people so long, they thought he was not coming back and God left them, too. So they made a god out of gold and began to worship it. The true and real God was very hurt and angry at their behavior and punished them for disobeying. God wants His people to Love God Most!
Jesus tells us a story of a master who is going away on a long journey. He gave each servant some money to invest and work while he was away. After a long while, when the master returned home, he called the servants to give report about their assignment. Two did their best and were rewarded and pleasing to the master. One did nothing with what the master gave him, and the master shamed him and sent him away. Jesus' story tells us that Jesus is the master, we are His servants, and Jesus has given to each us Spiritual gifts, heart toward certain people, built in abilities, a specific personality, and unique experiences to use for serving His kingdom, the church. Jesus' expectation: We do our best and God does the rest. Matthew 25
Paul and Silas were close friends who traveled telling people about the A-B-Cs of the Gospel. But not everybody liked to hear about Jesus. In one town, Paul and Silas were put in prison for talking about Jesus. Prisons were very hard places in their time. But Paul and Silas chose to have a good attitude, and sang praise songs to God. God honored their attitude, sent an earthquake to open the prison doors, and gave Paul and Silas a chance to share the ABCs of the Gospel with the prison master, who trusted Jesus as his savior, forgiver, and forever friend - and his entire family, too! Acts 16:22-34
A lone traveler on a country road was attacked, beaten, and robbed by bandits. They left him injured and alone on roadside. In time, a pastor came by and ignored the hurt traveler. Then a volunteer church worker came, and he ignored the injured traveler, too. Then, the traveler’s enemy came by and bandaged him, carried him to the hospital, and paid his bills to get better. Jesus asked, which one really love people the most? We love people, because God loves ALL people.
One of King David’s many great accomplishments for Israel was to return the Ark of God, the symbol for the presence of God on earth, to Jerusalem. It was a difficult task which took much time and planning but when it finally happened, King David was so excited, he brought the church band out to the streets to play praise music and King David and many others danced in the streets in the presence of the returning Ark of God. The homecoming of the Ark was a special event for King David and Israel and David was very happy. And not only was David happy, but God gave David great joy in this victory!
