FINDING A WAY TO BE HAPPY,
EVEN WHEN THINGS DON'T GO YOUR WAY

DO THIS:

MORNING TIME

Write the definition of joy in a place where your whole family will see it every morning: "Finding a way to be happy, even when things don't go your way." Start as many mornings as you can by reading it aloud in whatever voice or accent you want. Make it fun and make it joyful!

DRIVE TIME

Turn up some of your favorite Christmas songs and enjoy caroling in your own car! Sing as loud and as joyfully as you can. Remind your kids, "You can find joy when you search for God."

MEAL TIME

Q&A for kids: What makes you happy? What brings you joy? Are they the same things?
Q&A for parents: Have you ever felt joy even when you weren't necessarily happy? Share how that was possible!

BED TIME

What does it mean to you when someone says, God is with you? Even though Mary faced an unexpected situation, she knew the stories of God’s faithfulness, and trusted that He would be with her. Because God sent His Son, Jesus, we can trust that God is with us every day, too. Pray that you will have joy knowing God is with you.
